Adam came into the shop upset that he lost to a Toyota Starlet in the weekend!.A standard r34 gtr is no slouch but was no match for the modified gt starlet. The plan was made to build a fully street legal 1000hp monster!!!
This is how the r34 came into us. As you can see its completely stock. Very clean example of a factory setup.
Engine out and sent away to Hytech Engines to be built to N S Spec Motorsport specs! While away we started prepping the engine bay and measuring things up.
Heat shielding around the strut tower and ecu loom. Power steering reservoir also relocated. All part of LOW VOLUME CERTIFICATION! We take the extra time to make sure that Adam had no dramas getting a W.O.F or trouble from cops.
J.E pistons and Eagle rods all ballanced and ready for fittment.
Custom cams from Kelford Cams..Very crucial specs in making torque and air flow into the engine. With 100s of cams available we did extensive research before the decision was made.
Ross Harmonic Ballancer...another vital part in keeping the harmonics in the engine at check. Excesive vibration can destroy an engine in seconds. Also makes degreeing a camshaft easier with the markings on the face of the ballancer.
HKS Cam Pulley...light weight and nicely anodized to suit the rest of the engine bay. They are adjustable so the camshafts can be dialled in for optimum performance.
RB26 block acid dipped, machined and painted. Its ready for the pistons, rods and crankshaft to be fitted. Acl race bearings are to be used.

Head consists of Tomei valve guides, standard valves, heavy duty valve springs and retainers.
Engine fitted into place and the plenum fabrication is underway. A proper plenum aids achieving power levels easier. Trumpets or bellmouths equalize air flow and air speed, two important equations to consider when making a plenum!

Turbo bolted on and strut brace clearance is mint. 4" intake pipe made with GReddy filter. Taking shape very nicely now.
Huge front mount intercooler fitted for cooling the 20psi plus boost soon to be pumped through. Very high quality constructed cooler from our supplier in China! Blue 4 layer silicone hoses are also used.
OMG!!! Finally all together in the engine bay and looking stunning. Everything you see has been hand fabricated in-house and extremely detailed. Even the polishing is carried out by us. The custom plenum, oil catch-can, alloy radiator and intercooler piping made to perfection. The catch-can can hold 12litres of oil in the case of disaster. In my opinion its one of the best rb engine bays ive seen.
Boot is ready for our custom surge tank and fuel system. Its another vital ingredient in the 1000hp build. The goal was to make it so boot space could still be used.
2 litre surge tank and sx fuel pump are all mated together using high quality stainless braided lines and alloy anodized fittings from FRAGOLA.
As you can see its very neat and compact so boot space is still available.
